Maine Teacher PD Requirements (2026)

90 hours every 5 years for teachers

Source

Primary source: Maine DOE Certification Renewals page. Underlying rule: 05-071 Ch. 115 (State Board of Education educator certification rules). The "teachers, administrators, and educational specialists" group all use the same 6 credits / 90 contact hours / 5-year structure. Ed Tech (educational technician) is a separate role with 3 credits / 45 hours — not captured here. 1 contact hour = 1 hour of approved PD; 15 contact hours = 1 semester credit.
