Wyoming Teacher PD Requirements (2026)

75 hours every 5 years for teachers

Source

Primary source: Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB). WY uses a "renewal credit" framework where 1 credit = 15 contact hours (per PTSB Chapter 8 regulations). The board administering teaching is the PTSB, separate from the Department of Education. The 75-contact-hour equivalent puts WY mid-pack nationally.

Wyoming Standard Educator License renews every 5 years. Required: 5 renewal credits per 5-year cycle. Credits may be college coursework, PTSB-approved workshop credits, or National Board Certification credits. Per Wyoming PTSB Chapter 8, the workshop credit conversion is 15 contact hours per credit, so 5 credits = 75 contact hours equivalent. Workshops must be PTSB-approved providers; college credit must be from an accredited institution. Any combination of credit types is acceptable.
